Some general info on the village
The commune of Aubeterre sur Dronne belongs to the arrondissement of Angoulême. It is located in the extreme south east corner of the Charente department, in the region of Poitou-Charente, and is close to both Périgord and Aquitaine.
It is the head of the canton of Aubeterre sur Drone and is part of the communauté de communes du Pays d’Aubeterre.
It comprises 239 hectares and has a population of 430. It is 70kms east of the Atlantic Ocean, 44kms west of Périgeux, 45kms south of Angouleme, and 90kms north east of Bordeaux. Its climate is oceanic and mild. The inhabitants of this idyllic village are called “Aubeterriens” and “Aubeterriennes”.
